Last week, I had the chance to participate in a year-end giving webinar with several of my nonprofit friends. Together, we talked about ways to prepare your data and your staff for a year-end giving campaign and we heard a case study from Mercy House about their year-end work.
I talked about donor stewardship - the key to retention and an often overlooked aspect of a fundraising strategy.
Of course, every webinar has some technical difficulties - and this one was no exception. I couldn't manage to get my slides to display, so I charged forward. If you want to see what I meant to present, you can check out the files below.
The big takeaway was this: get started. You don't have to wait until you have a massive fundraising campaign or a multi-channel strategy lined up. Even if your campaign means you're going to call your top 10 donors and thank them for giving - it's worth it!
Your mission and the people you are serving cannot wait for you to create the textbook / perfect fundraising campaign. Get started how you can, learn from it, and do more next time!
